Social Studies
We are studying the Early Peoples of the Western Hemisphere. We have just completed the life style of the Maya Civilization. The children have completed the construction of their Mayan head gear.
Math
My math class is working on multiplication and division.
Reading
Our reading program is moving along nicely: The children continue to read their anthology, and the class has complete their first novel… The Witches.
Our next novel isĀ On My Honor by Marion Bauer.

Spelling
The children are using their spelling words in well constructed sentences. Their test scores are very good.
All Saints Day
My fifth graders are preparing an All Saints Day Parade which will take place in the school hall. Each child will select a saint and learn some interesting facts about their saint. The children should also be working on a costume. I will send home more information on day and time.
Artifacts
The ARTIFACTS program is in full swing. This program is an art enrichment program designed for the students of St. Joseph School. Any parent that would like to get involved is welcome to contact me and I will fill you in on the details.
Writing
Look for your child’s essays in their weekly work. They are adorable.
