Grade 3 Newsletter

March 2010

I hope you have all enjoyed the beautiful snow and had time to play in it. Hopefully your children spent some of their extra time reviewing multiplication facts.

It is now March and time for the Terra Nova testing. This will take place the week of March 8th. We will be taking practice tests this week so the students have an idea of the way the test is set up. One change in third grade is the students read all of the test, whereas in previous years much of it is read to them.

Make sure  your child goes to bed at a reasonable time and eats a good breakfast. We do have three booklets that we do in third grade. The homework for this week will be lighter—spelling and studying facts.

We will be finishing up the times tables and multiply larger numbers by one digit numbers. Continue to review facts. I am seeing progress with some of the students.

The St. Patrick’s Day parade is on Saturday, March 20th. You are all welcome to march in the parade.

Remember to spend quality time with your children.  Discuss the importance of the liturgical seasons of Lent and Easter. Each child picked a way that she/he would  try to improve during Lent.

Pray for an early spring!

God Bless You All,

Nancy Bath
