Important Dates:

8^th – 12^th Terra Nova Testing

19^th – 10:30 Mass Feast of St. Joseph

31^st – Book Report Due

*2^nd graders will attend 8AM Mass every Friday during Lent

TERRA NOVA TESTING

We will soon be starting standardized testing.  The purpose of taking this achievement test is to find out which skills have been learned and which skills need further development.  Remember, 2^nd grade is not over, and they will not know everything tested.

Tips: *Get a good night’s sleep.

*Eat a healthy breakfast.

*Come to school on time.

*Be prepared with three sharpened #2 pencils with good erasers.

*Relax, try your best, and show off how much you know.

Please send in three, long,  #2 pencils by this Friday, March 5^th!

First Eucharist

We will soon begin learning about the Sacrament of Holy Communion.  In preparation for this Sacrament, there will be a special Promise Ceremony at the 9:30 Mass on March 14^th for St. Joseph parishioners.  Parents and children will stand and present themselves as candidates of this Sacrament and state their intentions for continuing a relationship with God and the Catholic Church.  Also on March 9^th there will be a meeting with Sister Regina in the Community Center in the evening.  Please try to attend both events.

Book Report

This will be the last month of completing the same book report format.  It is also the last chance to earn a Pizza Hut certificate by completing 2 book  +reports.  For the months of April and May, I will assign a new format for the book report.
