October 2009
- Book-It Program from Pizza Hut has started. Please read 6 books this month and fill in your form. Return form to Mrs Falivene for a certificate. Happy reading!
- Young Readers Club first meeting is Tuesday, October 6th.
- We have started “Addition” in Math. We will be covering math facts thru 12. Please practice math facts with your child daily.
- Everyone is trying their best in Reading. We need to keep studying those reading vocab. words. I will be sending the hard cover reader home to practice.
- Show and Tells have been very interesting in Science and Social Studies. We will be using our texts now to start formal lessons. In Social Studies we will begin with Family and Community. In Science we will be looking at living things especially, plants and trees.
- In Language Arts we are covering the three types of sentences. Also, learning about complete and incomplete sentences.
- There is no school on Monday,October 12th. The teachers have an In-Service that day.
- Tag Day is Friday, October 23rd.
- Report Cards will be given out on Wednesday, October 28th.
- Halloween celebration will be on Friday, October30th. Bring your costume in a bag with your name on it. We will have our celebration after lunch, followed by the parade at 1:30. Class moms will contact if help is needed.
- HAVE A WONDERFUL FALL SEASON!
