Artifacts Presentation and Workshop on Henry Moore Draped Reclining Mother and Baby, 1983
Henry Moore was the most important British sculptor of the 20th century, and the most internationally popular sculptor of the post World War II period. His main themes were of the mother and child, and the reclining figure. He created abstractions of the human body. Henry Moore once said that “sculpture is an art of the open air.” Moore wanted his art to be enjoyed outdoors, in basic settings that would bring out its relationship with the natural elements of the earth. The next Artifacts presentation will be held on two days. Thursday, May 17th will be for Kindergarten and First grade and Friday, May 18th will be for Second grade through Eighth grade. Presentation and art workshop will be held in the Community Center. All parents are welcome to attend. Volunteers are needed to help the children with the art workshop.
