While several Catholic elementary schools in northwestern New Jersey closed in the past year due to declining enrollment, one school in Sussex County ignored the grim trend and made dramatic improvements to its facilities this summer. St. Joseph’s Regional School in Newton, which had not undergone any major facilities’ renovations since it opened more than 50 years ago, underwent an extensive facelift that was done primarily by more than 240 volunteer workers, including parents, former students and contractors. |
